Necks? NECKS?! Where we're going we don't need necks. Seriously, tried giving these guys some necks before , looked kinda odd. Besides, for the sake of the style I'm working with,I think they look okay without the necks.
Thanks Skar, but what you said is completely untrue. You can sprite something 10, no 20 times better than this. All you have to do is experiment with scratch spriting and sprite other than sonic related material. Now I'm about about to shove the whole "scratch spriting is better than editing" speech down your throat because neither of us would want that, but I will tell you that scratch spriting will allow you to develop you own spriting style and better develop your ideas more than sonic sprites ever could. Because if you just use sonic sprites, they'll never actually be yours, and the worst part about making an awesome character/idea/concept/whatever, is the fact that it's ground the sonic universe.
True about none of what i do in Sonic Universe begin original, but it's because i really like how Sonic characters are. Yes, i could at least do custom sprites but that's something really hard to do because I CAN'T "draw" little characters, by "little" i mean a sprite normal size. If you look in my galerry, i remade a sprite from a character that was supposed to be in a game that were cancelled a time ago, i didn't use any type of base or anything, it's 100% custom but it was made in 3 hours, something i call a "pain in the ass". But at least the result looks a bit great, i think. But i'm just saying i will never make something better than yours. With "never", i mean it will take ages to get skill like yours or something. But anyway, no problem, really liked what you made there, gotta fav! :3
Dude I know how you feel. Sonic sprites are probably the most versatile sprites to work with when editing in my opinion. And yes, scratch spriting can be difficult, but I took a look at your gallery and you're giving yourself too little credit, You're better than ya think. I would suggest scratch spriting every once in while just to build up your style. Trust me, you'll be an awesome spriter, take it from a guy who started off editing himself.
